The Room within a View: solo show is up online

‘The Room within a View’ (2013) stems out of on-going project ‘Doors of Nothingness’ (2012-) as a virtual prototype for a series of sited installations. The project frames and (con)textualizes myriad of thoughts within the mindfulness of a nomadic listener, triggered by pervasive interaction with various immersive but evanescent auditory situations. Essentially experiential, subject-oriented and contemplative in its development, the project explores the itinerant sonic interactions occurring between the listener and constantly emerging environments as cognitive processes of hyper-listening and thinking, which arguably transcend the epistemological constrains of sound.
Exhibition: May 15th – June 15th, the Widget Art Gallery.

this_location: sound installation with moving image

this_location is a sound installation with video projection; the work addresses issues of dislocation from the perspective of urban constellation; this is approached by means of environmental sounds and images retrieved from a number of city landscapes, juxtaposed over spatial interaction, disorienting memory and immediate auditory experience, where moving image projected at the installation space intends to accentuate augmented listening.

The work has been produced in the occasion of Shunyasthan, a cross media art workshop and open studio at Studio 21, CIMA (Centre for International Modern Art), Kolkata.
